Dr. Chiranjit Ghosh is currently an Associate Professor at the Manipal Institute of Technology, under the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (formerly Manipal University), Manipal, Karnataka. He obtained his PhD in chemistry in 2018 from Satyendra Nath Bose National Centre of Basic Sciences, Kolkata. Later, he moved to the University of Waterloo, Canada, for his postdoctoral work (2018-2019) in the group of Professor Janusz Pawliszyn. Hereafter, he joined the group of Prof. Sophia Koo as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School, Harvard University, USA (2020-2022). Then, he joined the faculty at MAHE-Manipal in 2023. Dr. Ghosh is a PI of the Solid-Phase Extraction Research and Analytical Laboratory (Team SPIRAL). He is supervising 08 full-time PhD students and leading several projects funded by DST, ICMR etc. His team is developing microextraction devices for identifying novel volatile biomarkers in exhaled breath, which can be used for early screening of bacterial infections
