Pragati Yadav is a final year student of B.Sc.(Hons.) Zoology at Gargi College, University of Delhi, India. She is working under the supervision of Dr. Supriya Singh. Her research interest lies in the field of infectious disease biology and bioinformatics, particularly HIV-1 evolution using large scale data from LANL Database. She is interested in learning about new bioinformatics tools and how they can simplify HIV evolutionary studies. The major aim of her research is to understand how HLA genetic variation, particularly in India, affects the evolution of HIV-1 Subtype C. She is working to identify the markers of immune pressure that exist on the viral genomes and how these markers vary in different geographic populations. Through this research, She aims to develop a regional specific understanding of HIV evolution, moving beyond general models
